The Past…

The first company to introduce a picture phone was the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) in the 1960’s. The world was shocked at how technology had advanced to where two people could be talking on two different phone screens at the same time. As seen by the date, complications arose with this new form of technology and it had to go through many more corrections before it could be presented to the public as a new form of communication. Eventually, the technology became more affordable and it is foreseen to be the next hit in the electronic markets.

The Present…

The messages people are trying to portray in a Video Conference meeting are getting more and more accurate as time progresses. It is estimated that about half of the messages are effectively conveyed in a meeting. Video Conferencing has expanded tremendously since the 1960’s and the prospect of many new and exciting opportunities are almost attainable. The hope is that advances in technology and more publicity about this form of communication will push this new idea of virtual meetings into the future.

The Future…

CEO’s of the leading Video Conferencing companies have high hopes and dreams for this relatively new technology. Thoughts of bringing college classes to the global level and saving time and energy for major companies are the goals for these future thinkers. Various studies have shown that many companies are using HD Video Conferencing systems and that an even larger percentage plans on testing the systems within the next year. There is an expected increase that purchases will grow by well over 100 percent in the next four years. Reports continue to project the future of Video Conferencing and how the influence of it will change the way companies communicate.
