Videoconferencing specialist LifeSize has updated its UVC platform with full support for Hyper-V virtualization, a new management application, and other improvements.

One of the attractions of LifeSize UVC is that organizations can pick and choose the modules they need, and then run them either on virtual machines or on LifeSize hardware.

The latest release brings full support for Microsoft Hyper-V as well as VMware. A new addition to the family, LifeSize UVC Manager, is said to simplify video network management.

Improvements to LifeSize UVC Video Center include support for any standards-based endpoint, closed captioning in multiple languages, and support for the Blackboard Learn learning management system

“UVC is the answer to so many IT challenges,” said Simon Claringbold, general manager and vice president of LifeSize Asia Pacific

“We’ve spoken to hundreds of IT leaders who tell us the same thing. They are not looking for a one-size-fits-all solution, they are looking for ways to use their existing resources to grow as they need to grow.

“Our approach is not only simpler, more flexible and less time-consuming for IT, it ultimately results in a better quality of experience for users and that is always our end goal.
